The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Psychology (GHMUAP) has been officially established. This alliance is a professional and non-profit organization under the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, initiated by Sun Yat-sen University. The founding members include South China Normal University, Shenzhen University, Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai, Guangzhou University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University and The University of Macao.

Mak was awarded by the International Society of Behavioral Medicine (ISBM) with the Distinguished Scientist Award for her longstanding contributions to a deeper understanding of stigma and the potential of digital technologies in behavioral medicine, as well as to improving the health and well-being of minoritized and underserved populations.
