馮海嵐教授是香港中文大學心理學系教授和正向社會科學中心的執行主任。 她在西雅圖華盛頓大學獲得學士學位，並在史丹福大學獲得碩士和博士學位。
馮教授研究跨成人期的社會動機和認知。 她獲得了人類學和老年學協會頒發的 1998 年瑪格麗特克拉克論文獎、1999 年行為和社會科學論文預研究獎以及美國老年學會頒發的 2010 年行為和社會老年學瑪格麗特和保羅巴爾特斯獎。 她還獲得了香港中文大學2006年青年研究獎和2013年研究卓越獎。 她是澳大利亞心理學雜誌的副主編。 她是美國老年學會、美國心理學會和心理科學協會的會員。 在教學方面，馮教授獲得美國心理學會第20分部頒發的2008年退休研究基金會導師獎和美國心理學會第52分部頒發的2016年亨利大衛國際導師獎。 她還獲得了香港中文大學社會科學學院頒發的2007年模範教學獎和2015-16年度教師導師獎。 在2021 年，她被史丹福大學評為世界前 2% 的科學家。
