Research
Research Interests
Dr.
Zhang obtained his BA in physics from the University of Science and Technology
of China in 1994 and his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Princeton
University in 1999. He then did postdoctoral research at Yale University
and Hong Kong University before joining the Chinese University of Hong
Kong . His research field is in cognitive neuroscience and experimental
psychology. He uses both behavioral and brain imaging methods (including
functional MRI and ERP) to investigate the neural mechanism of basic cognitive
processes involved in attention, memory, and language. He collaborates
closely with researchers from mainland China institutions, including the
Institute of Psychology of China , the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive
Neuroscience and Learning in Beijing Normal University , and South China
Normal University . He has a research base in the Medical College of Shantou
University where he serves as the Vice Director of the Key Laboratory
of Medical Molecular Imaging of the Guangdong Province of China.
