The
Sixth Chinese Psychologist Conference (11-14 June, 2008)
The Chinese Psychologist
Conference (CPC) aims to promote academic exchanges among Mainland China,
Taiwan, and Hong Kong psychologists. The 1st conference was held at
Taiwan University in 1995. The next three took place in Hong Kong, Beijing,
and Taipei, respectively. Suzhou, Mainland China hosted the most recent
(5th) one, in 2005.
The 6th conference will take place in Hong Kong, from 11-14 June, 2008.
The Department of Psychology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong
is the main organizer of this conference. Co-organizers include the
Department of Applied Social Studies,
City University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Psychological Society.
The
11th International Conference on Processing Chinese and Other East Asian
Languages (Dec 2005)
The 11th International
Conference on Processing Chinese and Other East Asian Languages (PCOEAL
2005) was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from December
9th to 11th, 2005. The conference provided a forum for researchers from
all over the world to report original work on any aspect of cognitive
processing in the target languages. The aim was to promote discussion
of interdisciplinary research into processing major East Asian languages.

Asia-Pacific Conference on Trauma Psychology: Life Adversities & Challenges
(Nov 2005)
1st
Asia-Pacific Conference on Trauma Psychology: Life Adversities &
Challenges, co-organized by Department of Psychology, Asian Society
for Traumatic Stress Studies and Hong Kong Single Parents Association,
was held on 13 Nov 2005. It provided a valuable opportunity for researchers
and practitioners to exchange ideas in the field of trauma psychology.
The
Conference on Chronic Drug Abuse in Hong Kong (May 2004)
The
Conference on Chronic Drug Abuse in Hong Kong: Latest Findings and Social
Relevance, co-organized by Department of Psychology, Department of Sociology,
and the Social Welfare Practice and Research Center, Department of Social
Work, was held on 15 May 2004. More than 60 researchers and practitioners
joined this conference and shared their knowledge in the field of drug
abuse.

Advances in the East and West (Dec 2003)
An International Conference on Neuropsychology: Recent Advances in the
East and West was held from 9 to 12 December 2003. The conference, aimed
at creating a forum for professional and scholars in Asian and Western
countries to exchanges ideas on Neuropsychology, composed of workshops
by world-renowned neuroscientists, and presentations and discussions
about some unique researches conducted in China
