Teaching
Sharing Forum
An
essential approach to continuously improve and to develop a community
of practice in teaching is to share our teaching experience. We are
all looking for better ways to conduct our lectures and tutorials. New
teachers and assistants are curious to know the tricks of the masters;
and experienced ones are eager to discover new ways to spice up their
proven techniques. In this one-hour sharing session, there will not
be any speakers or presentations. All participants will be divided into
small groups regardless of their disciplines and teaching experiences
to share their teaching practices. The objective is to learn how each
other conducts their lectures and tutorials. Each participant is expected
to bring a question that they want to ask (e.g., how to promote classroom
discussion), and a learning activity that they want to share (e.g.,
a Wikipedia group project). You may or may not be able to get the answer
to your question, but surely you will be able to gain some insights
into teaching innovation. Participants outside the Department of Psychology
are welcome but all are expected to participate in the discussion.
