Abstract

Deception is ubiquitous in society. The recent development of high spatial resolution imaging technology, such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), has allowed the detection of brain activities associated with deception. The fMRI studies conducted thus far investigated 1. brain activities and 2. the robustness of the observed pattern of neural activation associated with deceptive responses. Findings indicate the general importance of the prefrontal parietal network during deception, which lay the neuroanatomical foundation upon which future dissimulation research may build.
